Is it possible to download Redhat AS Errata updates automatically to a proxy server? It's a bad idea to have Internet connectivity for all the servers. On the other hand, it's time consuming to download updates manually.
Thanks and points in advance for ideas/links/scripts!

Re: Automatic download of Errata updates
Check for the command "up2date" (
particulary to the following options:
--proxy :Specify an HTTP proxy to use
--proxyUser :Specify a username to use with an authenticated HTTP proxy
--proxyPassword :Specify a password to use with an authenticated HTTP proxy
)

Alessandro

Re: Automatic download of Errata updates
up2date is your command to get automatic updates from the RHN site.
do man up2date to see all the options.
Hope this helps.

Re: Automatic download of Errata updates
Probably, I was not clear enough. I'd like to setup a server (any UNIX) that can download updates from RHN according to my privilleges. Real RedHat systems connect directly to a proxy repository via yum. This works if I download updates manually. AFAIK, RedHat allows downloading Errata Updates only via HTTP.
Thank you!
BR,
Mihails
