SEP can you start a similar thread in the HP-UX forum. Perhaps this bring the etiquettes back in someones mind.

This will bring me to another problem.
Would it be a good thing, if we see in our forum profile which question we not have rated 100%.
Perhaps like this way

That mean I have rated 7 from 7 answers in that thread. Somtimes it could be very hard to find a thread that you not have rated 100%. Especially, if you have eg 40 own thread and a ratio 99/100 assignments.

This issue is a much bigger problem in Linux. Some noses will get out of joint in the HP-UX section if I start a similar thread on the HP-UX side.

However, next time I start a congrats thread there will be a bonus for perfect and better than perfect profiles.

All I can say is the itrc forums grows on you I started reading this during a consultancy job, and now find myself more and more addicted, It is certainly full of good pointers, advices and fun I read a lot most of everybody's here reply's, and I take of my virtual none existing hat and salute you for the good and usefull time I spend here , I have not posted many questions, but I am still reading and hopefully digesting the doc I got pointers to yesterday as a reply to my 1 and only quetion up to now.

all I can say, is points or not this is fun.

I will continue to bounce this thread to the top or start other threads any time I feel Linux postsers need a reminder.

A responsible poster is one who checks back on his or her thread.

A good poster is one who takes the time to assign points. Its what makes these forums as good as they are. Its for pride recognition and what not. I'm not doing it for myself. The last bounce was because I saw a lot of good answers from Stuart, Jerome and Balaj getting not recognition.

Thats not right and all participants need to in my opinion conduct themselves in the way that top people in HP-UX do.

Look at the Top ten list in HP-UX(which I am not on) or the top 25 for the forums(where I am currently #12.) Those people have admirable records for point assignment and my message to the Linux community is emulate that.

It is a message that I will pound home whenever I feel the need. I urge others to back me up on this.

I'm new to the forum compared to a lot of you "veterans" but I have to say I am really happy with what I have seen and read so far. Every time I need some help I have had really great answers and more importantly I get ideas over and above your answers that help down the road.

The points thing is the best idea ever for forums.
