connecting a SCSI tape drive to K580
I have a Cybernetics tape library that was upgraded from AIT1 to AIT3. The drive wasn't responding before it was sent off, so it was repaired and upgraded. My question is this: can I plug the control unit into the SCSI bus and use ioscan (or some other command) to see the drive then use SAM to add the drivers, or, do I have to power down the server to connect it properly? It's a development box and can be taken down in the evening, but, since I haven't gotten a backup in quite some time, I am hoping to connect it and start using it again as soon as possible. Thanks

Re: connecting a SCSI tape drive to K580
Nevermind, I posted this under Linux and meant HPUX. I will post this in the correct forum.
