CPU frequency-scaling

howto check under linux, if my CPU does support frequency-scaling ?

I'd check the manufacturers website personally, and then maybe lookup the chip specs on Intel or AMD's website.

As far as Linux is concerned its a CPU. It gives the OS life but I don't really think there are diagnostics this advanced.

There may be add in software, but I'm pretty sure there are no tools built into the OS.

the command;

$ cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info

will show, amongst others;

power management: yes
throttling control: yes
