HP VECTRA Xu 6/200 NEed HELP plzz !!

Hi I just bought a HP vectra Xu6/200 in
garage sale. It has single pentium pro
200 processor and a floppy drive and a
mother board. Now I want to test it.

It has no ram , no hard drive. I have taken
off the cover and put a working video
crad in it. Now i want to test it. When I turn
it on the monitor screen remains black.
Although mother board turns on as I can
see the fans running. After a while I hear
two beeps and they continue after some
period.

I need help here plzz.. I want to ask do i
have to put ram in order to test it. What
am I doing wrong here ?? any suggestion
plzzz any hard ware specailists here

I used to have one of those on my desk..it was a pretty nice box, with a few quirks...

Like most PC's any useful test will require that you put some memory in the PC.

As I recall the video card that came with it was a Matrox MGA (OEM) Millenium. I am not suprised that someone pulled it out.

I think you have built in SCSI as well as IDE - with the right BIOS update I think you can boot from either SCSI or IDE.

In general the XU line can take a second microprocessor - but you may have to buy (or find) an add in module to adjust voltage or something silly like that.

Over the course of time I ran w95, NT 3.51 and NT4 on that box.

Yeah ur correct I found out I need to have ram to test the machine. I have been lokin for ram and that extra module for the second processor. Any idea where I can get that module cheap ??

But thabk you very much, also I am lokin for beep codes for this machine coz its giving me 4 beeps :) may be it want ram
