Getting NFS Server TImeouts and Retries.
NFS Client is RHEL 5.4 patched.
NFS Server is HP-UX 11.31 w/ ONC+ 2.3
Tried nfs v3 and nfs v4, even options -- no avail. df -k hangs but NFS operation (heavy writes) finish eventually.
NFS Server (HP-UX 11.31) is a HP RX6600.
Any tips to t'shoot the issue?
*NFS Operation from RHEL Client is our nightly MondoRescue Backup of the OS.

						Shalom,
What password scheme are you using with our HP-UX 11.31 NFS server. Red Hat has trouble talking to trusted systems. You may have to go with shadow password, available on http://software.hp.com to resolve this.
Check the HP-UX servers logs before taking any action.

As this could be a tough one to t'shoot (aka fa potential inger pointing conundrum), I've set up my NFS Server on another RHEL machine.
NFS4 goodness and full gigabitty speed.
No more TimeOuts.
