LH 3000 Netraid Linux Monitoring tool

Hi,

is there a Linux Monitoring Tool for the On-Board Netraid Controller for my LH3000? The Tools for Dell Servers (megactrl) work partly but not perfect...

Hello Markus,

You don't say which flavor of Linux you are using. HP has tools for certain flavors but not others. You can check what's available by going to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19611&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=77403

The Netraid controller is basically an AMI card so you might see if they have the monitoring tool you want.

The dell tools from what I can see do monitor nicely, but not for email notifications.

I've had to configure them to log to a file, and scripts to look for key-words there.

Using:

MetaCtrl -start -log /var/log/metactrl.log > /tmp/out.log

does what we need it too.

Thanks for the fast answers.
First of all, i am using Debian Woody 3.0 which works perfectly with Kernel 2.6.5 and the megaraid driver as long as I disable I2O.
I looked up the http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19611&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=77403 page, but isn't this only the Driver for the card? Because of Kernel 2.6.5 the Card does work very well but I get no Console/Mail messages when a disk failes. I will again try with the Dell tools , but I would be happier if there is something from HP which is made exactly for this card.
For examlple I can't start an consitency check from dellmgr beacause it is always telling me that the size of component physical drive is less than size of configured raid drive. From the SCSI Bios I can do all the stuff without errors.

I must admit, I don't use 'dellmgr', I use the older 'megamgr'. Works fine on my LC2000 running 1M controller (same family as the LH3000's onboard).
