Re: linux client usage

There are several possibilities:
1) wine to run the original windows executables. Not fool-proof...
2) vmware (run windows under linux)
3) vnc (run the windows programs on a central MS server and use the linux client to use that)
4) HTTP interface of outlook.

Of course, you could also use a linux E-mail client and configure the Exchange server to support IMAP or POP3.
Every problem has at least one solution. Only some solutions are harder to find.

Re: linux client usage

There is a product that also alows you to connect to exchange as MAPI client i.e. it works like Microsoft Outlook (part of office).
You can find more info here.

I used it for a while -it costs though. somewhere around 50-70 $

There's also utility called crossover trough which you can install the real MSoffice on linux including Internet Explorer.
Also casts money-not really expensive.
I used the 30 day demo -very nice.
