MSL60xx driver and Changer/Robotic utilities for Linux

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where can I download MSL60xx driver for Linux? With the driver in-placed, I also want to have a program to control the MSL changer/robotic arm. Which software should I use and supported by LInux?

Thanks

Re: MSL60xx driver and Changer/Robotic utilities for Linux

Hi, I have found where I can download the MSL6000 driver from the HP website, but I am not sure which one I should download.
Here is the download page I found:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom〈=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=MSL6000&submit.x=6&submit.y=11

Can anyone please tell me which is the MSL6000 driver I need to download for linux?

Thanks

Re: MSL60xx driver and Changer/Robotic utilities for Linux

Hi,

I heard that MSL6000 firmware has specific Tru64 and Linux, depend on the server.
Since the existing MSL6000 is initially bought for Tru64, I think this MSL6000 is only work for Tru64. Even if we got a driver for linux, I don't think the driver can work with this MSL6000 Tru64 based firmware.

Can anyone please tell me where can I download this information?

I m very appreciate for any suggestion.
Thanks

Please see the previous answers to this question

As far as I'm aware there isn't specific firmware for Tru64 and Linux - it should just work.

I've had Tru64 and Linux sharing a MSL5026 before now without any problems, and without any drivers being required.

Cheers,

so my colleague is bluffing. He worked for the company for 10 years as a Unix Admin. Lucky I didn't tell his "findings" to my manager.

Re: MSL60xx driver and Changer/Robotic utilities for Linux

I have just found out some MSL tape library do have restriction or need to be authorized to work with certain OS.
See the link below:

and scroll down the Notes 3.

I wonder if MSL6000 also have this restriction.

Thanks
