printer configuration gets overwritten on redhat cups

I have redhat 3 ES as print server. If I add web browser access on /etc/cupsd.conf it works, but when I configure another print queue via redhat-printer-configuration tool /etc/cupsd.conf gets overwritten. I want to give web browser access to certain IP address. Any advice??

Re: printer configuration gets overwritten on redhat cups

chmod a-w /etc/cupsd.conf

Configure a printer. See if it errors out on permissions.

Perhaps set up a virtual ip address eth0:1 for example.

ifconfig eth0:1 192.168.0.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

or copy /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/ifcfg-eth0:1

Edit it and change the ip address to the next available one.

That will provide cups the address.
