Problem getting NC553i on Bl460c G7 working with Oracle VM 2.2.1
Hi:
Has anyone been successful installing Oracle VM 2.2.1 on a BL460c G7 with Virtual Connect Flex-10 ethernet interconnect module?
The built-in be2net driver which is version 2.101.346u fails to initialize the FlexNics, not even if there is only one 10GbE connection in the server profile.
We suspsect we need to install the newer be2net driver, which is version 2.102.514. The problem is the Oracle OVM server does not have rpmbuild utility needed to install this.
Would highly appreciate help from anyone who has done it.
Thanks,
Van

Do you have the correct PSP installed for your OEL server that hosts your Oracle VM?
There should be a specific PSP for Oracle VM...

Re: Problem getting NC553i on Bl460c G7 working with Oracle VM 2.2.1
Hi Alzhy:
I came across a PSP for Oracle but not one specifically for Oracle VM.
From what I understand from the manual, the PSP still need the rpmbuild to be able to install the driver also. And we cannot install the PSP for Oracle or the PSP for RHEL 5 because it is looking for a number of libraries that are not in the Oracle VM server.
By the way, do you have or know an installation of Oracle VM that works with the NC553i? If you have, I would like to try just getting a copy of the be2net.ko from a working system.
Thanks a lot for your reply.

Hello Van,
I'm in the same situation, the rpmbuild does not exists and is difficult to compile the source driver.
Did you fix it?
Regards,
Daniel
