Problems enabling nc8430 bluetooth module

Using linux (ubuntu 7.04) on my nc8430 (em741av) i'm unable to see the bluetooth module:
The module itself (BCM92045NMD) won't show itself in any way (like it won't show up in the lsusb output) and so i really don't know how to start using it...
I can easily use an external usb-bluetooth adapter, the problem is way before this :)

Any help will be appreciated :)

Re: Problems enabling nc8430 bluetooth module

Try installing kbluetooth (I have seen it working with Kubuntu / KDE stack).

I've tried also with kbluetooth, but the problem is the same:"No bluetooth adapter".
here's my lspci output:

(the logitech thing is just my usb mouse).

The bluetooth module, as far as i understand, is supposed to be connected via the USB bus, and I have both the ubci_hcd and the ehci_hcd modules installed.

I think the problem is about activating the device, cause it can't be seen.
That's my second nc8430 with the same "missing bluetooth" problem, so i'm not supposing it could be a HW problem.

Does anyone know if there is some strage acpi command (or anything else) that has to be issued for the module to be activated?

Thanks

Re: Problems enabling nc8430 bluetooth module

Only time I have seen something similar to this was with a Qlogic card. Installed the card, it showed up in the BIOS and at system POST. When I booted the system device was nowhere to be found even with the correct driver loaded. Ended up being an IRQ conflict, I resolved it by disabling firewire(didn't need it) in the BIOS on that system.

Re: Problems enabling nc8430 bluetooth module

I just tried disabling every device I was able to disable from BIOS, bus still "hciconfig -a", with the wireless switch enabled, gives me nothing. Also lsusb and lspci gives me nothing intersting...

In a few hours maybe i'll beable also to try again replacing the BCM92045NMD with someone from another nc8430, I'll post any news.

Any other ideas?
