RHEL 4 new lun on vxvm

A new lun has been added on a RHEL4 box which has veritas. Please could you let know how to identify this new lun from RHEL4 and veritas point of view. Thanks in advance.

fdisk -l should show the new lun and then allow you to do the preparation steps.

There are some bumps in the road. It works a little different with EMC versus other storage, native versus add in multipath.

vxdctl enable
vxdisk list
vxdiskadm


The belwo will also help:
lsscsi
multipath -l
inq (EMC Tool)

Disks that are not under VxVM control will be very obvious under vxdiskadm or vxdisk list.

Two follow up notes.

vxdisk -o alldgs list

I noticed that inq was not on some of my systems but sysinq provided some of the same functionality.

inq can be downloaded from EMC
