software to start PIP on HP2025 Monitor

In two different incidents, user reported our normal user space application fired PIP (picture in picture ) on HP2025 Monitors. However, it is not always reproducible to do that.
My question is: There is any known sw/tool/utility that could manipulate the PIP feature from Linux OS?
