vsftpd server

hi

I have 3 questions:

1.) howto create ftp user for vsftpd server without home directory ?

2.) howto allow only ftp group ?

3.) howto configure /etc/vsftpd.conf to log automatically to /srv
and allow only /srv directory and its under-directories for ftp user ?

I'm using vsftpd on Debian Sarge

vsfptd is pretty simple to deal with:

anonymous_enable=YES


Change to NO


local_enable=YES
#
# Uncomment this to enable any form of FTP write command.
write_enable=YES


Change to meet your requirements.


# Default umask for local users is 077. You may wish to change this to 022,
# if your users expect that (022 is used by most other ftpd's)
local_umask=022


Change to meet your needs.

xferlog_enable=YES


Don't change the above....



pam_service_name=vsftpd
userlist_enable=YES
#enable for standalone mode
listen=YES
tcp_wrappers=YES


Might want to change the userlist_enable parameter to no if you wish to limit user access.

service vsftpd restart

Note that this service is not part of xinetd like the old ftp server was.

it works, but it seems the user must have its home directory,
otherwise I get errors by ftp login.

and I have an other question

should I enable this option:
