where to get the resource that how to use openldap in client

i am trouble in using the openldap in client, most program like ldbm2ldif, passwdXX.pl, and something like this disppear, they all be needed as metiioned in some articles.
or ldapsearch, ldapadd,etc, i am less of refereces how to use it, the man is too simply, no wrong infomation provided.

could somebody tell me where to get resource for client usage?
