2008 R2 datacenter - create activated Vsphere guest templates?

Hello,

After a lot of testing it seems almost impossible to create activated Vsphere guest templates with HP OEM licenses as the activation is lost after issuing a sysprep /generalization /oobe

There are two types of licenses, the product key and the virtual key - which one is to be used?

According to http://communities.vmware.com/message/1524005
there are problems with this.
Is there anyone out there with experience of this?
