Can't print from DOS on NT machine
I have an HP2100 using a 600N HP JetDirect internal print server card. I can
print from any program in NT but not from my DOS programs. Does any one have
any suggestions. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Can't print from DOS on NT machine
Danny,
If the print driver you are using is not creating a seprate 16-bit space on the
NT machine where your printer is attached - which is what I presume the case to
be - then DOS will have no way to communicate with NT to establish a 16-bit
session for it's print process.
I forget what the API call is to create a seprate process on NT, but if you
call Micrsoft tech support - or look over the Knowledge Base there, you may
find your answer.

Re: Can't print from DOS on NT machine
Are you setting a proper NET USE statement for LPT1?

Re: Can't print from DOS on NT machine
I've had this same problem with an 1100 printing directly to local port lpt1
from NT's DOS prompt.
Added a second printer driver - HP4p from the winnt CD and then connected this
to lpt1 as well as the 1100.
Could then print to the 1100 from DOS.
This appears to be a HP driver BUG
