Compaq Presario X1000 hibernation problem

Hello

I have a compaq Presario and i have a strange problem

A couple of weeks back when i was hibernating my laptop, it hibernated but the battery indication was still on though the screen was black. The battery indication was on as long as the battery power was there.

now , Whenever i am working the laptop suddenly goes into hibernation in the middle of my work . I suspected that it would be a faulty battery and tried working by taking the battery out. Still same problem

I also went to the power options and disabled hibernation . i still have the problem

Can anyone help me out with this problem
