Configure SNMP Trap event for HP EMS events in SCOM
Hi there,
I'm trying to configure SNMP trap monitoring for HP EMS events in SCOM.
My HP-UX host is running 11.11 and snmpd.conf is configured to send the traps to the SCOM host with a custom community string. It does have all the correct values and the SCOM host is able to communicate (snmpwalk) with the HP-UX host.
EMS is configured to send all monitors, Info and above to SNMP. I can see the traps passing with WireShark on the wire.
How do I configure SCOM to receive the trap? I have the EMS MIB file, but I can't import MIBs into SCOM.
Thanks,
Don

Re: Configure SNMP Trap event for HP EMS events in SCOM
this seems to be a SCOM issue not an HP-UX issue, shouldn't you be asking this question on MS SCOM forum of some kind?

Re: Configure SNMP Trap event for HP EMS events in SCOM
I don't disagree, however, the MS SCOM style forums see SNMP coming from HP-UX as a scary thing that lives in some alien world.
I'm hoping that somoene may have had an experience integrating the EMS MIB or at least an OID into a usable event on the SCOM side.
