Hp pavillion dv9000

We are having an issue with the Touchpad options. One option, enhance pointer precision, will not stay set. If I reboot or logoff it will be turned off again. I have updated bios(F.16), touchpad drivers, and followed the Vista configuration options. Any suggestions?
