Hello
Is there any known problem with booting alpha server from XP box (10000)?
OS should be 8.2 alpha (with all patches) and it should be cluster.

Re: Boot alpha from XP box
Is the XP box you are referring to the XP SAN array or is that something else?

Solution
Vladimir,
We moved three clusters to an XP1024 while running VMS 7.3-1. We are currently running 8.2.
The only "issue" on the alpha is with wwidmgr. You can't use the -quickset option to set up your boot devices with the XP. You have to do the setup manually with -set port and -set wwid commands. This is documented in the WWIDMGR User's Manual that is downloadable from the AlphaServer Firmware web site.

Re: Boot alpha from XP box
Peter, it is XP10000 SAN array.
Bill, thanks a lot! I know it is supported but there are allways "issues" that may not be documented. It is good to know there are no problems with that combination.
Anyway, if someone else knows any issue, please post.
