Re: Can I make powertem to be the alpha console ??
Chaim,
I think I'd be looking for another job :) Thats an old timers way of checking things. I'd miss errors scanning a busy pile
of paper. A search won't miss it. you could
always use powerterm and print to a real
(newer) printer from the PC. Anyway there
are usb to serial adapters if your pcs are
new and don't have a serial port. You might
give the guys some points for trying to help
you. good luck with whatever solution you
come up with! Dean

Re: Can I make powertem to be the alpha console ??
I am now attempting to do this.
I first tried connecting to a terminal server by removing the MMJ cable from a VT connected to a TS and inserted it into a MMJ to 9-pin converter and connected this to my PC. This connected fine.
Then I took the MMJ cable connected to the console port of the alpha and inserted it into the same converter and connected this to the COM port of a different PC. But This does NOT connect! I checked the speed/parity etc. and they jive.
Thanks,
Chaim
