I just checked his profile, he woks at DBS. They run OpenVMS. Never any problems. :^). Specially not with RMS :^). He is there just in case the cleaning lady unplugs a wrong cable. Plenty of time!

Martin, do you work with Thilo at times? My regards.

Hein.

Re: Congratulation to new graduate Martin!

Hallo all,

thanks for the good wishes, I really enjoy working with all of you in the forums. Hein
>>almost<< spotted me, he just missed the "Inc." part, i.e. I do not work at the main DBS site in Frankfurt (Germany), but at our branch in Chicago.

And right now I am mostly busy with work concerning the new exchange we plan to launch here early 2004. As for RMS problems, I would say we keep pushing the envelope and provide engeneering with new challenges ;-) Unfortunatly right now we do have one open :-(

And anyhow, now I have to think about good answers to earn a wizards hat ;-))

Re: Congratulation to new graduate Martin!

Congratulations Matin, you deserve it.
We may create such award system in c.o.v. too :-)

Cheers,

Re: Congratulation to new graduate Martin!

Congratulations Martin!

It's real hard to get point's in the VMS area since we have so many experienced people in the VMS area. That and not a lot of newbies to give us old guys some points. :-)

When I signed up for the ITRC back in August, I figured that I would most likely get most of my points in the VMS area. Now almost 3 months later, I am about to break 250 points. This is mostly in the SAN/Storage forum with only 9 in the VMS forum. I am shocked at the lack of SAN/Storage knowledge in the Windoze/Unix world. Especially the questions that their HP support/sales folks should have answered for them.

Re: Congratulation to new graduate Martin!

Hello Mike,

well so you are about to receive your first hat. All the best. SAN storage is by no means trivial and if you can help people with your knowledge there this is certainly very commendable.

Greetings, Martin

Re: Congratulation to new graduate Martin!

Hi Mike,
now you have increased by 33% your pts in VMS area!
I agree with you: in VMS area are assigned a few points; I think this happens because:
a)There are a few post (in every M$ area there at least 10 post every days);
b)People assing a few points (I've seen in HP-UX the assign a lof of points every post).
But don't forget, VMS group is youngest in this forum and there are little people here.
So, Martine is a great examples for all us.
Mike, congratulation for next your hat.

Ok Guys, will post and will assign pts.
