I have 3 nodes cluster running at OpenVMS v7.3-2 . The graphics was OK. But without notice one of these nodes has not a GUI .You can find attached the file which is regarding to DEC Windows startup on this node.It seams that the graphic images is not loaded.
Note: It was working before but its stopped without any changes made on the
cluster or the node.
Please advise . . .

Re: DEC Motif at Cluster ES45
Have a look at the granularity hint regions with SHOW MEMORY.
If depleted, you can augment them by adjusting the appropriate GH_ system parameter. Note that for the adjustment to take effect, a reboot is necessary.

Re: DEC Motif at Cluster ES45
Have you looked at the logfile at SYS$MANAGER:DECW$SERVER...LOG? (Can't guess the name right now).

SolutionTelnet into the system that is having the problem and login as "system".
Look at the log file named: sys$manager:decw$server_0_error.log and see if there are any errors being recorded.
Next, "set default" to the following directories and look for any files that begin with "DECW$":
1) sys$specific:[sysmgr]
2) sys$specific:[syslib]
3) sys$specific:[sysexe]
If you find any files that begin with "DECW$", move them out of the directory into a empty, temporary subdirectory elsewhere on the disk.
Decwindows installation does not put any DECW$* files into any other subdirectories except for SYS$COMMON. There should not be any DECW$*.* in any other directories except SYS$COMMON unless a user put them there.
By moving the DECW$*.* files out of sys$specific, you will return the system back to the default installation of Decwindows.
After moving the files and ensuring that no other DECW$*.* files exist in any of the sys$specific: directories, you may attempt to restart Decwindows using the command:
@ sys$startup:decw$startup restart
Cheers,
Rick Retterer

Re: DEC Motif at Cluster ES45
it tells you that on boot and offers to run autogen. However, it rarely solves the problem. You would need to go to modparams.dat and increase the value significantly. At 7/3-2 it set global pages very high anyway.
You could have bad card.
