DS20E not booting with openVMS
Recently we have procured a DS20E server with 667 MHz CPU & 4GB RAM.This server boots with Open VMS 7.3 and 8.3 bootable CD and hard disk. When we tried to boot with OpenVMS 7.1-2 it gives a message 'THIS SYSTEM IS NOT SUPPORTED IN THIS VERSION OF APB'.
What is required to be done to make my server compatible with OpenVMS 7.1-2 .
kindly reply.

Re: DS20E not booting with openVMS
Hi Prashant,
you need to have installed the VMS712_DS20E-V0100 kit.
See the release notes:
ftp://ftp.hp.com.au/public/vms/axp/v7.1-2/dec-axpvms-vms712_ds20e-v0100--4.README

Re: DS20E not booting with openVMS
Prashant,
you can find the various 7.1-2 kits here:
ftp://ftp.hp.com.au/public/vms/axp/v7.1-2/
The original patch was superceded by
VMS712_CPU2208-V0200
ftp://161.114.227.181/pub/ecoinfo/ecoinfo/346.htm
READ the release notes and instructions for installing the patch.
You would find it easiest to boot a supported system off this system disk, and then apply the patch, before returning it to your DS20e.
