Question: Is there a simple way to determine whether there is a new release, or new patches for a layered product such as HP BASIC.
I am currently running Version 1.6, and the SPD list 1.6, however the SPD is dated Sep 2006. Is the SPD the authoratative answer?
I know that BASRTL patches are released as OpenVMS Patches. Are there any other sources for BASIC patches that I should watch?
Are new releases of BASIC "announced"?
Thanks
Dave.

Some of the information is available at the SPL site without a login.

You might be able to subscribe to notifications with a service agreement. I still haven't been able to find that out yet.

						Dave,
you can check the software rollout page for links to the current product libraries:
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/os/swroll/index.html
HP BASIC is currently V1.7 for Alpha and Integrity.
Version 1.8 is showing on the future roadmap for Alpha and Integrity
