Is this UCX NFS 2 or NFS 3?

I have an older Alpha running the following

Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.1
on a AlphaServer 2100A 5/250 running OpenVMS V7.1

How can I tell if the NFS client supports NFS 2 or NFS 3???

Re: Is this UCX NFS 2 or NFS 3?

NFSv3 first arrives with TCP/IP Services V5.7 ECO2 and later, as was discussed here:

Host-based InfoServer is vastly easier than dealing with NFS, as was discussed here:

I'm not going into particular detail on how to determine the NFS details given you already have the answers you want here, so (if you want more) you can google for documentation on rpcinfo if you want the answer to your other question. The TCP/IP Services version of the rpcinfo tool is named tcpip$rpcinfo.exe and the foreign command symbol for that image is loaded via:

@SYS$MANAGER:TCPIP$DEFINE_COMMAND

Re: Is this UCX NFS 2 or NFS 3?

Clarification:

NFSv3 *client* first arrives with TCP/IP Services V5.7 ECO2.

NFSv3 *server* has been around since TCP/IP Services V5.1.

Anticipating the next question, with OpenVMS 7.1 you can install TCPIP 5.1. You can install some of the patches, at one point VMS 7.1 went out of support and the final patches for TCPIP 5.1 were not qualified with OpenVMS 7.1.

You'll need an HP support contract to access the patch download site these days.
