Quick question. I've got 3 rx26x0 systems (1 rx2600, 2 rx2620). None of them have a drive in slot #3 (i.e., each system has DKA0: and DKA100:). (Or is that slot #2? Is it 0-based?)
What will I see as the device ID when I insert a disk drive in the 3rd slot? I know it's going to be a "B" bus, and I'm guessing DKB0, but would like to know for sure.
Unfortunately, my systems are about 1400 miles away from me, and I'm trying to write a planning document. All the docu I've searched on HP's site does not specify what this slot is ID'd as; my own examination of the systems reveals that the second SCSI LVD controller is indeed PKB.
TIA,
Aaron

Re: rx26x0 disk slot SCSI IDs
I vote for DKB0:
Based on the picture in:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12141_div/12141_div.HTML
and the following sentence:
Dual channel Ultra320 SCSI controller, 2 internal disks on one channel, 1 internal disk on a second channel
The SCSI adapter is PKB0, so the disk must be DKB0:

Re: rx26x0 disk slot SCSI IDs
Yeah, I saw that pic and that statement. But voting is what the engineers do prior to implementation... ;^) They COULD have just as easily decided that DKB200 would be unambiguous and a good choice...
Nice try!

Re: rx26x0 disk slot SCSI IDs
and once you know the 'answer', it's easy to find references by googling for 'rx2600 DKB200', like Colin's presentation:
