Initially I presented local volumes for cross site shadowsets only but have now changed one pair of DGA devices (one at each site) to give all nodes in the cluster access to see hwo it performs before migrating all volumes.
I went through the SET DEVICE/SITE examples in HELP and set them accordingly but a show device/full on the DSA device or the DGA device doesn't show it's set.
I can see the information via ANAL/SYSTEM SHOW DEVICE DSA87: but not from DCL.
VMS version is OpenVMS V7.3-1. Please see attached file for SHOW DEVICE/FULL of the shadow set and example of the SITE logicals and commands.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: Site information set but not displayed from DCL
AFAIK, at present you can see the above information only through SDA (anal/system) . No DCL command or lexical can be used to display the site information. Hope, in future, we can see from DCL too !!...
Thanks & regards,
Lokesh

SolutionWe keep telling you it's a good idea to upgrade :-)
OpenVMS V7.3-2 (note this will probably look really ugly when wrapped)

This example displays status information for the shadow set on
virtual unit DSA716:.
Note that the VU Site Value is 5, and the site value for device
$252$DUA716 is also 5. Therefore, reads on this node will be
read from the $252$DUA716 device.

Re: Site information set but not displayed from DCL
Many thanks; will have to re-read the VMS V7-3-2 release notes.
As for upgrading ... this system only just got to 7.3-1!
Thanks again,
Malcolm

Re: Site information set but not displayed from DCL
that's a good excuse, but it might not be a real hindrance ;-)
