							TCP/IP V5.3 ECO 4

This patch is included in the VMS 7.3-2 Patch List along with TCP/IP V5.4 ECO 1. The subject patch will not install, however the V5.04 patch does. Of interest, on the Patch Site, if you search for TCPIP instead of browsing for all 7.3-2 patches, the subject patch doesn't show up. I'm thinking that the V5.4 patch supercedes the subject patch. Below is the error messages during the install
Thanks, Jeff
%PCSI-E-APPLYTOERR, maintenance product DEC AXPVMS TCPIP_ECO V5.3-184 applies to
a product that is not installed
-PCSI-E-APPLYTOPRD, prerequisite product is DEC AXPVMS TCPIP (version minimum V5
.3-18 and version maximum V5.3-184)
%PCSI-E-S_OPFAIL, operation failed
%PCSI-E-S_OPFAIL, operation failed
%PCSIUI-E-ABORT, operation terminated due to an unrecoverable error condition

						Jeff,
When you upgrade to VMS 7.3-2 you have the
option of retaining TCP/IP 5.3 if it is installed -- hence the availability of the
patch in the VMS 7.3-2 area. It ONLY applies
to TCP/IP 5.3, which is what you are told if
you try to install it after installing 5.4

Dave: Thanks. That makes sense, since like you said, it won't install after the 5-4 patch. Thanks, Jeff

						Hi,
can not resist the opportunity for a plug ;-)
If you do have Perl installed on your system, have a look at
http://zinser.no-ip.info/common/vms/sw/notes/pcsi_inst.zip
Among other things it will give you a list of all products and patches (including revision), which are currently installed on your system (i.e. the ones which have been removed/superseeded are >>not<< shown, unlike product show hist is doing).
Greetings, Martin
