Re: VAX 6510 Console commands
Roy,
welcome to the OpenVMS ITRC forum.
As far as I remember - and it's been a while - there were no console commands to show the disks...
>>> SHOW ALL
is all there is.
Volker.

Re: VAX 6510 Console commands
AFAIK, there is no such command.
Old VAX consoles were not without their limitations.
Old HSJ and HSC consoles had limits, too.
My typical solution was to either boot something (CD, or the small OpenVMS system root I often configured, or booting via InfoServer and which is again often an option) or walk over to the HSC or HSJ console, and look. (I never dug around in the VAX diagnostics for this detail.)
I usually had a configuration and command book next to the console, something I generally still recommend to my customers either in that form, or as a wiki or web cms. One site used a big whiteboard. This is a linear descendant of the old DEC field service system configuration ring binder.
The VAX 6000 used hexadecimal notation for the XMI controller number, the CI address(es), the R5 value, and (which tripped more than a few folks) the disk unit number.
So what's the background on your question? What are you trying to do here (beyond looking for a way to read the HSC or HSJ via the VAX), what might be changing here, or what happened here?
