Hi,

Am running Tru64 Version 4.0D with Patch Kit2

Daily, during the cold-backup of the DBs, the available swap space on the server behaves crazily ( see attached output ).

Planning to upgrade the patches on the system to the latest ( PK 9 ).

Just wondering if it's a know issue ..!!

Hi,

while backup, data transfer from disk to memory and then to devices(tape). Swap is nothing to do with backup procedure.
as you have palnned to upgrade tp PK9, this swap issue doesn't cause any probs, your problem may get rectifed because of the patches.
