Re: fail to find hard when install ds20
The KZPAC only supports disks up to 9GB.
The KZPAC-XF may only be supported on a range of systems made by Digital Equipment that used Windows NT below
CT-CC871-AA [A01] DS5305,
CT-DELTA-AA [A01] RM7300
CT-DELTA-AB [A01] RM7300
CT-FUNB2-01 [A01] DS7310
CT-JSANS-AA [A01] DS7305

Re: fail to find hard when install ds20
find this article:
-------------------------------------------
Situation
-----------
System Type: AlphaServer800 & AlphaServer1200
O/S Version: 5.0 & 5.0A
O/S's are not seeing the KZPAC's disks.
Analysis
----------
These 2 servers are internal use machines. The FE is trying to install 5.0
& 5.0A to work with the product. He has tried installing on both the AS800
and AS1200 with the same result - O/S CD is not seeing the disks. He gets
an error when the Xserver comes up that there are no disks to install on.
He can boot the 4.X CD and it sees the disks fine. There are seen fine from
the console. If he uses the disks as JBODs - then they seen. Problem occurs
if the disks are in a RAID or Mirror set. He is suppose to be at the latest
firmware for both system and controller.
Resolution
-----------
Found that the latest firmware for the controller was 2.70 and e-mailed the
link to the FE:
http://sawhorse.cxo.dec.com/STORAGE/SCSI/ADAPTERS/DEC/KZPAC/index.html
Had him use the SWXCR utility and disable the fault management as per BLITZ
[TD 2800-CR] Functionality Loss in KZPAC RAID W/Fault Management Off
After doing this and booting the 5.0A O/S CD, it was able to see the
3-member RAID-5 set.
