failed to tar

two 4100 connect to one TL891 tape, I use #file /dev/nrmt*h command can find the tape /dev/nrmt0h .... on both of host ,but one of 4100 failed to use tar and report : I/O error (#tar -cvf /dev/nrmt0h filename ), and there isn't this problem on another 4100 .

The TL891 is one tape drive library, but actually it has 2 devices (the robot/changer, and the tape drive)
It might be that only one host is controlling the robot and the other doesn't.
Are you using some sort of a backup software?
