FTP restriction problems on tru64unix 5.1b

Hi all,

using wu-ftp on tru64 unix there is a problem i cannot identify yet.

while logging to ftp service noone can see any directories but they can navigate in thieir directories .

for example user TOTO has a R directory but while in ftp client he cannot see it

ftp>ls
fsf
fsfs
ftp>

This is the same problem for both restricted (chrooted) users and non-restricted users.

How to correct this ?
Is their something to do to the ftpaccess file ? an what ?

I already verified the ftp daemon is setup to enable ftpaccess file use.
I already verified and restarted the inetd service.

Please help...

wu-ftp is not the standard ftp service delivered with the os. It would be better to ask questions about opensource products on the related homepages of the products and not in a HP related forum.

there is no informations about it anywhere else about working on HP.

even goolge answers anly a few pages and noone are talking about this kind of problems.

The only page about the problem i found was a problem of HPtur64 and not from ftp daemon but it is not applicable on my case, it is a different error.

that's why I'm forced to ask to HP.

Do your logfiles try to tell you anything?
I think its an ftpaccess problem, so i give you my "ftpaccess" which works for me.

nothing seems to be so differents but permittions of course (different needs)

Aha,

But thats were i think your problem is, the permissions are not correct. Atleast not when using FTP. The trouble is were to start looking for the problem cause.

Did your log files show anything?

This is not a Tru64 problem, have you checked the newsgroups regarding the wuftp problem? (ignoring the Tru64 focus)

Mayhaps its not a Tru64 problem, but who am i to turn down the needed. The wu-ftpd server came with the OSSC (Open Sourse Software Collection) that came with my 5.1B Tru64 UNIX Box. That makes it a valid question, if you asked me.

No, because the Open Source Software CD is not supported, it is a goody. If you mean the IAS Kit then have a look into the included documentation listed the supported parts of the CD - wu-ftp is not listed!

The chance to get an answer for open source problems is fairly higher in the specific wu-ftp conference/newsgroup because the problem is independent of the operating system.

Yes, you are correct. It came with the IAE cd kit. And as i don't have the answer (nor the time lookup the answer for you)
