Hwgr permission denied
I am having problems trying to replace a disk in a AlphaServer 8400 running Tru64 5.1B. The node has been rebooted several times and used two new disks. I booted the node to single user mode to get the driver owner to 0 and disk has no disk label
and executed:
/sbin/hwmgr -delete scsi -did 10
/sbin/hwmgr refresh scsi -did 10
hwmgr -delete component -id 188
after executing the cmd above I get hwmgr ERROR (13) permission denied.
hwmgr show scsi:
188:10 NODEXX disk none 2 1 (null) [6/3/0]
hwmgr -v h:
188: disk bus-6-targ-3-lun-0 SCSI-WWID:04100024:"DEC RZ1CB-CA (c) DEC184728358056"
voldisk list:
dsk21 sliced - - error
execute voldisk online dsk21:
voldisk online dsk21
lsm:voldisk: ERROR: Device dsk21: online Failed:
Device path not valid
and executed:
/sbin/hwmgr -delete scsi -did 10
/sbin/hwmgr refresh scsi -did 10
hwmgr -delete component -id 188
after executing the cmd above I get hwmgr ERROR (13) permission denied.
hwmgr show scsi:

Re: Hwgr permission denied
I think that you get "permission denied" because the disk is part of a configuration. It seems that it hapenned to me when tried to delete a disk that still was part of a domain.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: Hwgr permission denied
How do I resolve this issue? How do I remove the disk from the domain?
