Is Tru64 FreeWare CD Available On-line like OpenVMS?

Subject says it all. :) Any pointers appreciated!

Does HP (or anyone else!) have the CDs or their contents on-line downloadable for the HP Tru64 FreeWare CD that comes with the O/S distribution?

I have a friend that is looking for some binary that is listed to be on there. I would assume it could be found elsewhere (if it really is "freeware"), but it would be easiest to get what they specify. :)

Yes, there is a CD called "open source software collection". I think that is not downloadable. Normally, it comes with the operating cd media kit. There is also another CD called Internet Express that provides several internet services.

An Internet Express CD-ROM came with the
V5.1B Non-Commercial kit, but the Open Source
Software Collection CD-ROM did not, nor did I
find one in my Q4 CY2005 Software Products
Library.

Personally, I tend to suck down source kits
for stuff, and then build it myself, because
I find that the freeware kits tend to be more
out of date than I'd like. Of course, this
tends to force the use of GCC for C++ source,
as the Non-Comm kit includes only C (also
unlike VMS).

I have passed this info along to the person I know who is looking. I believe I heard he was looking for some gcc binary... I am afraid I don't know the details. I myself would also go for the original source code but I don't know the circumstances of why/what he is looking to accomplish. :)

These pointers to the OSS seem like they are better than nothing!

If the problem is building GCC without a C
compiler, one way out could be to do it on
one of the HP Tru64 TestDrive systems.
Otherwise, I'd just suck down the kit, and
settle back while "make bootstrap-lean" runs
(nearly forever). That gives you plenty of
time to search for alternatives...
