SolutionI currently backup about 23 servers using the Legato Networker Solution.
As the backup/restore processes are pretty stable, the only gotcha I've really run into is with being able to read DLT tapes created on one Legato Backup server and being able to restore them onto another machine where a separate Legato server exists.

Re: Looking for Backup Software for Tru64 servers
If you don't mind spending some money then it is probably worth you looking at Omniback (OB version 5 is now known as Data Protector).
We use it on our hp boxes and are considering it for the tru-64 boxes too. Prior to OB5 you could only backup to remote tape drives but now this restriction has been removed.
Personally, I like omniback. It is easy to use and does all that I need it to do.
Take a look at the info: http://www.openview.hp.com/products/datapro/download.html
Cheers

Re: Looking for Backup Software for Tru64 servers
I too use legato networker.
I back up 8 unix servers and 29 windows servers a night.
And also do weekley archives
on Mondays. It's easy to install, configure, and use.
Iam running it on an Alpha
running tru64 V4.0

Re: Looking for Backup Software for Tru64 servers
I also noticed they support OpenVMS. Since I have a couple of Alpha's running VMS that would be a plus.
Thanks,
Greg
