Mouse doesnt move in Alpha 4100
Hi everybody.
I have the following problem with my ps/2 mouse in a Digital Alpha 4100. The original Digital mouse (three buttons, ps/2 interface) moves from down to up direction while server is loaded with NT40. No matter when to point, the mouse always going to the upper part of screen. I installed a similar Digital mouse but the Bios sais "mouse test failed" and NT40 dont shows the cursor. I installed another OEM mouse (three buttons,ps/2) and only moves horizontally, dont vertically. When use two buttons mouses (such a Logitech or Microsoft) the bios says "...test failed". The question is: is the mouse the problem? or maybe the server^s hardware. What kind of mouse should I use? How could I fix this? When loading Tru64 Unix 4.0B the result is the same.
All posting are welcome.

Re: Mouse doesnt move in Alpha 4100
Considering that you have tried multiple mice, I would not expect this to be a problem with the mouse.
You said you've tried it with NT 4.0 and Digital UNIX V4.0B. When you switched between NT and Unix, did you switch from AlphaBIOS to SRM. Some older Alpha systems require running the ECU when switching between NT and something else. Did you do that (assuming it applies to the 4100)?
Did this ever work?
