Tar and CPIO high CPU usage

Hi guys! I'm tryingo to do a backup on a tru64 5.1B system, but after the process starts and begins to record the files to the tape, it stops and the processes begin consuming 99% of cpu. It happens the same even if I use Tar o Cpio. The system has no patch kit installed yet.
# find . -print | cpio -ov > /dev/tape/tape2
etc/file
etc/file2
etc/file3
---->after that it stops

# ps -ef | grep cpio
root 17204 17215 99.9 08:40:44 pts/9 0:19.95 cpio -ov
root 172115 17209 0.0 08:41:52 pts/10 0:00.00 grep cpio

Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks

I would install pk2 - there are numeorus fixes to these utilities. If the problem contiunes after installing the patches, you may want to log a call with support.

Re: Tar and CPIO high CPU usage

check if there are hardware errors within binary.errlog.

Then install patchkit #2 for 5.1B.....

Hi guys. thanks for your help.
The problem was solved changing the tape drive TZ89 to a TZ4080.

But I'll install Patch Kit 2 too.
