Hello.
I Have a server running on HPE Custom ISO.
And, I want to apply a patch released by Broadcom to this server.
□The model name of the HPE Server.
HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus v2
□The version of the HPE Custom ISO running on the server.
HPE ProLiant Custom Image for ESXi 7.0 U3o (Build Number: 22348816)
□The version of the patch you wish to apply.
VMware-ESXi-7.0U3s-24585291-depot.zip
I believe there are two ways to apply the patch.
Method 1. apply the patch manually (with esxcli software profile update command)
Method 2. wait for HPE Custom ISO to be provided for 7.0U3s. Then update with Custom ISO.
Is method 1. supported?
I have searched the Broadcom and HPE websites and could not find a page that clearly states...
Please let me know if anyone knows.
Best Regards.

Re: Applying VMware patches to servers running on HPE custom ISOs
Hi Mrkm
Download link - https://support.broadcom.com/web/ecx/solutiondetails?patchId=1224
To list the available Image Profiles
esxcli software sources profile list -d /vmfs/volumes/datastore/VMware-ESXi-7.0U3o-22348816-depot.zip
To install/update a specific Image Profile
esxcli software profile update -d /vmfs/volumes/datastore/VMware-ESXi-7.0U3o-22348816-depot.zip -p ESXi-7.0U3o-22348816-standard

Re: Applying VMware patches to servers running on HPE custom ISOs
Hi Rajaram02 .
Thank you for your answer.
You explained “How to apply patches to ESXi 7.0 U3o”. Thank you very much.
I may have not explained my quesiton well enough.
What I want to know is, can I manually apply the 7.0U3s patch published by Broadcom (not HPE Custom)?
Or should I apply the HPE Custom Image that contains 7.0U3s?
Maybe I should ask HPE support?
Any information on this question would be appreciated.

SolutionHI MRKM,
Current installed - HPE ProLiant Custom Image ESXi 7.0 U3o (Build Number: 22348816)
The latest HPE ProLiant Custom Image is ESXi 7.0 U3r (Build Number: 24411414)
You may update using HPE image first (24411414) and patch with 24585291 built
VMware-ESXi-7.0.3-24411414-HPE-703.0.0.11.9.0.5-Feb2025-depot.zip
VMware-ESXi-7.0U3s-24585291-depot.zip

Re: Applying VMware patches to servers running on HPE custom ISOs
Hi Rajaram02 .
Thank you for your response.
Your explanation helped me understand well.
1. update with HPE Custom Image
... Custom Image is ESXi 7.0 U3r (Build Number: 24411414)
2. update with roadcom patch
... VMware-ESXi-7.0U3s-24585291-depot.zip
Thank you, I'll try it.
