Hi guys,
HPE GreenLake for Block Storage: VMware ESXi Implementation Guide (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00002428en_us&page=GUID-43B8814C-8F4D-4EC0-8FA0-83B547183165.html) says that "ESXi 7.0 update 3 (7.0U3) and later: the default SATP/PSP VMW_SATP_ALUA rule for 3PARdata VV devices incorporated in the release distribution as of ESXi 7.0U3 is recommended and sufficient for multipath configuration with HPE Alletra Storage MP" so, is HPE Storage Connection Manager still a thing for a FC scenario as per documentation "To achieve optional I/O performance on HPE Storage devices, HPE recommends using HPE Storage Connection Manager for automatic iSCSI session management and for optimal path selection in both FC and iSCSI environments" (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00004102en_us&page=GUID-5CDFDDFB-5243-4798-B973-5D46D1229D27.html)?
Thanks

Rif.: Query: ESXi 7.0 U3 native MPIO and HPE Storage Connection Manager for Alletra MP FC
Dear @support_s ,
you pointed me to the same documentation links I wrote.
I would know if HPE Storage Connection Manager still needs to be installed in my scenario.
Thanks

SolutionYes , right. The default SATP/PSP VMW_SATP_ALUA rule for 3PARdata VV devices incorporated in ESXi 7.0U3 is recommended and sufficient for multipath configuration with HPE Alletra Storage MP. This applies to the multipath selection policy.
Still installing the SCM on the hosts will be an advantage for achieving optional I/O performance.
HPE Storage Connection Manager helps you maintain and directs Fibre Channel requests to the efficient route. Also automatically performs some advanced configurations, selects the optimal path and evenly balances each I/O request. If your array uses multi-array pools, you must install HPE Storage Connection
Manager.
