access to SureStore Optical 1200mx Jukebox from Windows

I'm rsearching how i can store files (Word/Excell documents, images, ASCII reports) on SureStore Optical 1200mx Jukebox 4 drives. How i can access this device from Windows 2000 machine as regular Windows file drive? For example i'd like to work with this device using Windows File Manager or save Word document using regular SAVE MS Word menu item.

Hello Yanb,

The 1200mx can be used for the purpose that you stated through the use of a 3'rd party software application.

The drives themeselves wil show up under explorer as any other drive and when media is installed can be formatted NTFS etc. The missing piece however is drivers and management software to manage the media (ie move the correct media in and out of the drives).

For your case I would recommend looking at the solution finder on the HP website. http://www.archivalstorage.hp.com/solutionfinder/index.jsp

This will allow you to do some research on available applications.
