CD-Writer 8220e

I've got a strange problem:

I'm using a HP CD-Writer 8220e external USB (re)writer, connected to a Micropoint Jazz notebook, running Windows ME. As software I use Roxio Easy CD Creator v5.1.

When I start recording an Audio CD, I cannot burn more than one track (sometimes two, but never more), when in Track-at-Once mode. Then my machine reports a Buffer Underrun at the time it is working on the 2 sec. gap. If I burn at Disk-at-Once mode, all goes well.

I've allready tried different recording software versions, reinstalled Windows 98 and Windows ME from scatch, but the problem persists.

I really hope someone can help me, I'M DESPERATE!

Re: CD-Writer 8220e

You could try making a disk image of the CD you're trying to copy and then copy that disk image from the Harddrive. This way of copying is the most reliable although takes a little bit longer. It's worth it though.

To do a disk image in ECDC5 just select the tracks you want to copy and then click on 'File' and choose 'create CD/Disk image'.This will copy the tracks to the Harddrive and once this is finished you just click on 'File' again and choose to make a CD from the image file.

Re: CD-Writer 8220e

Thank you for your reply, but the problem is not in coping discs, I create my own music, writing it to my hard drive as a WAV file, of which I want to create a CD.
It is original music, created by me on my PC...

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
