Vlan Routing between 3 switches

Hi,

i need some help with HP networking between 2 switches

we have an Aruba Instant On 2920, an HP Office Connect 1820 and a Aruba 2540

the 2920 has a trunk to the 1820, which also has a trunk to the 2540.

all switches can ping each other on the management ip addresses.

the 2540 has a server on vlan 20 which i cannot ping from the 2920, it is my understanding that the trunks will carry all vlans, and i have created an interface on vlan 20 on the 2920 to be able to ping from as a source.

doing further tests i can see that just the link between the 1820 and the 2540 is the issue as the 1820 cant ping the server on vlan 20 connected to the 2540, however i cant be sure it is pinging it from a vlan 20 interface.

any suggestions would be great.
