PCM+ 3.20 Creating policy to run couple of scripts for DR procedure
Hi all,
I'm looking for a specific question to policy management in PCM. We're creating and implementing a Disaster recovery procedure which consist also from reconfiguration of couple of Procurve devices (switches/TMS modules) on two sites.
There are couple of steps which must be done on different devices in a chronological order and our idea was to use PCM for this. The easiest seems to have a policy - "DR procedure", which will be started manually (by clicking "Enforcing policy" on a set of Targets. Each step will be defined as a separate action (script) in the policy. Each script will internally check, if it's run on a device where it should be executed.
The problem is, that by such definition - enforcing the policy doesn't run the actions on defined targets (according to log files).
So here are my questions:
1) Is PCM suitable for scripting such task?
2) Where can I find a logfile which shows running of the policies?
3) Will manual policy enforcement cause running the actions in the policy with the predefined targets?
Thank you very much for your answers,
LG
