Re: Install altiris agent "linux"

I hope you are using windows edition of RDP version 2.0 or above. In that case you can get the adlagent in a .bin file format. This file should be available in the NFS server at /usr/rdp/osoem/altiris directory. If you have not installed NFS server (which is very unlikely) this file is available in the RDP CD at CD2:/pim/lib/osoem/adlagent-*.bin

where * is the version of adlagent. Transfer this bin file to the desired target system and execute it like this:

sh /path/to/adlagent-*.bin

this will install the adlagent and by default it tries to connect to the DS by broadcast/mutlicast, so you should be able to get this machine automatically appearing on the DS console. Now this machine is your new client and you can play with it as you wish.

Re: Install altiris agent "linux"

Hi,

Where can I get an update adlagent for all the latest REDHAT OSes? The second CD only got the adlagent for i386. I need the adlagent for the other architects. Thanks.

Re: Install altiris agent "linux"

From RDP LE, the easiest way to install the adlagent is by accessing the web console from the machine and selecting the link to the agent and saving it locally, then executing. You can also get it from the NFS share if it is set up.

The adlagent is only available for x86. There is no need for this agent to take advantage of advanced instruction sets for what it does, so a single i386 32-bit agent is all that is published. On Extended-64 systems it is run in 32-bit compatibility mode.
