psp on rhel3 causes rebooting loop
I've applied the PSP 7.40 on two dl585's and one dl385. All three are now rebooting themselves every 12 minutes. I've not found any messages indicating why they are rebooting in the /var/log directory.
Where do the PSP tools record messages? The web thingy on port 2301 shows me no info either.
thx

Re: psp on rhel3 causes rebooting loop
first: the psp web port is 2381 (hope that is typo)
second, incase psp is doing the reboot then it will have it recorded and presented in the web somehow. so I believe it is not related to PSP.
Check whether you have scheduled any jobs to the box (last time when you have scheduled the job, you might have set it as recursive schedule).
Hope this helps,
Gopi

Re: psp on rhel3 causes rebooting loop
The web thingy does prompt me for user/password. All the "log" buttons just timeout when I click them. This makes me think that PSP didn't install completely or didn't startup properly. How can I know what is supposed to be running, and if there are any startup messages?
thx

Re: psp on rhel3 causes rebooting loop
All PSP log files (I believe) are in /var/spool/compaq directory. Some files are in /var/log directory too.
Check the logs and see whether anything unusual happening in your system.

Gopi

Re: psp on rhel3 causes rebooting loop
Start with the DL585 and make sure you have the latest ROM (from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_6016.html#2 get one of the options). Then run diagnostics on memory by booting from the SmartStart CD and see if any memory is reporting a problem. Odd ASRs like this are usually caused by memory.

Re: psp on rhel3 causes rebooting loop
Turns out PSP is not compatable with LAuS version 70. Backed up to LAuS version 66 and PSP now works OK.
Thanks again for your help.
