We use RDP for OS deployment, but lately we've been plagued by a problem. When inserting a new server into a bay, RDP gives it the same name and configuration as the server that was previously there.
We have /not/ configured rip-and-replace.
Server A is moved from Bay 1 to Bay 8
When Server B is inserted into Bay 1, RDP can not tell the difference between them.
In fact, the Deployment server console will show only one computer, but it will alternate back and forth between the two computers, changing from one name to the other.
Ihis makes it impossible to deploy software to the new computers, because RDP will send the job to the existing computer as well.

Re: Replacing or moving server blades
Hi Anders
First, What is the version of RDP which you are using?
(Is it Linux Edition?)
What is a primary lookup key?
Isn't it changed even if it presses the "F5" key?
I wish for this helping you.
Regards, kita

Re: Replacing or moving server blades
Thanks, Ole. That did the trick.
The enclosures were not named originally, and after I did so, the change wasn't picked up until I booted the servers.
